On September 17, Up for Growth provided a review of our underproduction report to a packed briefing for the Congressional YIMBY Caucus. Mike Kingsella and David Garcia detailed our findings and led a panel consisting of American Planning Association leaders, to discuss the implications. Representative Peters (D-CA-50) and Representative Edwards (R-NC-11) also joined the YIMBY Caucus briefing, underscoring the bipartisan interest in addressing housing underproduction.

Last week, the Faith in Housing Act (FIHA) was introduced in the House. This legislation enables faith-based institutions to build affordable housing on their land while ensuring long-term affordability and preserving important local safeguards. The introduction of FIHA is the culmination of years of thoughtful policy development and strong partnership with key legislative offices.

As part of this effort, Up for Growth circulated a coalition letter of support, and we are proud to share that 110 organizations signed on to back this important bill. We are deeply grateful for the breadth of support across sectors and geographies.

Momentum is building around solutions that unlock new housing opportunities. We look forward to continuing to work with our partners, Congress, and communities to advance policies that address housing underproduction and deliver homes where they are needed most.
